Kane Blackmoon (Animated Scenes by Gustavo Teixeira)

The scenes shown on this video were all animated by me, but you can access the whole trailer that my partner (gob_arts.artstation.com) and I worked together by clicking the link bellow.

This was a college project where we developed a Motion Comic based on a Brazilian Comic called "O Estranho Oeste de Kane Blackmoon", written by Duda Falcão and drawn by Braziliano.
The comic art was made by a traditional way, with paper and ink, so we had to work with Photoshop to separate the elements that we choose to animate, we also had to redraw some items and backgrounds from the original comic.
The software that we choose to work with to develop the animation was Adobe After Effects.

The elements from the composition were unattached with the Lasso tool from Photoshop.

As you can see, some elements from the composition can be moved, resized or even deleted from de scene without changing the environment arround it. And what it makes this special is the fact that this piece was originally made on paper.

Using the multiple planes technique in After Effects, allowed us to make parallax animations with no problem at all.
